Time Out

Timeout

Gaurav (Chirag Malhotra) worships the ground that his brother, Mihir (Pranay Pachauri), walks on. After all, Mihir is a popular jock at their fancy New Delhi high school, and all the girls are chasing him. But Gaurav’s outlook changes when he discovers that his athletic brother is gay. How will their close relationship be affected? Mihir eventually tells his liberal parents about his sexual orientation, but are his parents really as liberal as they seem?

Why It’s a Gem

“Time Out” is an engaging exploration of a brotherly relationship and shows us the struggles of how adolescents come to terms with who they are. It also provides an interesting window into the upper crust of Indian society, where competition is high and attitudes toward homosexuality remain complex.
